@Working Girl– It’s really true. So often we have the answers but just can’t see it for being too close. I’ve really found this to be a good strategy, even just as a thought exercise: advise someone else in the same situation.
I hope I didn’t end up commenting twice by accident - my browser is trying to kill me. Anyway, awesome post! So true! In our house, whenever one of us is really stuck, eventually someone says, “What would we tell someone else to do in this situation?” Bam. Problem solved.
At my church on Sunday they said the same annwers to another problem but rearranged the topics alittle. They talked about Judging others. So I guess that would be like:
1. Find a problem with someone
2. Apply your judgement to yourself first
3. Use new found solution to help that person now!
@Darin– You know, that could be misunderstood, but it’s a really insightful way to look at it. Thanks for sharing. Remove the plank from your eye before you remove the speck from your neighbor’s, right?
So simple, yet so true. This was actually one of the reason’s I started blogging. I figured things I was trying to figure out in my life could benefit others.
@elysa– You know, I recently started another, secret blog that I primarily write to help myself think through things. I just say, “How to overcome writer’s block” and then I have my answer after a little while. It’s been very rewarding.
