My First Bit of Link Love From a Mega-Blog

My new friend Brian Clark thought my little blog was interesting and amusing enough to recommend to his readers, and for me, that was a fantastic surprise.

I’m thrilled, honored, and will now shamelessly cater to those of you trickling over to see what this place is about.

Moment in the spotlight.

A spotlight shines on IHYJ.

Whether you hate your job or love your job, take some time to look around.

  • Get a feel for this site and some recommended readings from the about page.
  • View a complete list of all posts I’ve made by looking at my sitemap to see if something catches your eye.
  • If you have suggestions, requests, feedback, or just want to say hello, please do so by sending me an email at chuck (at) ihateyourjob (dot) com.

Make sure to come back tomorrow afternoon for the fourth chapter in the “Dante Hates Your Job” series.

Until then, have a seat; stay a while.

Way to go, Chuck. Hope this blog brings you everything you are looking for and then much more :-)
In case you haven’t figured out by now…I am a teacher who went back to preplanning this week and kids return Monday the 13th.

Any words for those folks who do the most important jobs that many people would never ever consider doing….and get very little financial reward… ie teachers, firemen and policemen(guess I should have said firepeople and policepeople) ??? Yet we have all benefited from the folks at one time or another!

    @Bush– That you did!

@Peggy– All comes down to motive. A human can tolerate a lot when they perceive a greater purpose in their actions. However, I know many teachers who are doing it just because it’s a job, and they aren’t enjoying it very much.

    How did you know??!

Great idea to provide a welcome post for copyblogger readers. I’ll be back to check out more, for sure.

@Joanna– Oh, I knew. Glad you think this post was a good move, I was slightly torn about it at first, but I agree with you.

You know, now I’m debating as to when to carry on with business as usual.

I also came over from copyblogger and love that you hate my job. I hated my job too. So I quit. Now I’m looking for that job I can love. But it kind of sucks being jobless. However, I am much happier. :)

  • 15 Chuck Westbrook // Aug 10, 2007 at 12:04 pm

@Amy– You know, I’m a supporter of leaving a miserable job sometimes when you don’t have something lined up.

It can be very hard to juggle a job and a job search at the same time, and if the job is rotten enough, it might be wise to get out.

Glad you found the site! Drop me a line sometime. I’d love to hear about the job you just axed.

    Gutsy, Amy!
